Marina Attendant

Job Description: 

Pleasants Landing is seeking a talented and reliable individual to join our team as a marina attendant. The position would require the applicant to wear numerous hats through out the day and be available to do all sorts of jobs. The applicant will answer directly to the marina manager while also assisting other managers with task. The position will require a lot of outdoor work, heavy lifting, and equipment operating. The applicant needs to be able to work independently as well as in a team setting.

Job Duties:

  • Grounds Maintenance 
  • Rental Boat Attendant
  • Assist with Construction Projects
  • Assist with Customer Service
  • Assist with boat showroom orientation
  • Assist with moving of equipment, boats, and trailers
  • Other projects as assigned by marina manager

Pay is based on experience and qualifications.

Rental Boat Attendant/ Grounds Keeper

Seasonal Full and Part-Time Positions

Job Description:  Full Time Summer Employment consisting of assisting in the outside operations of a full service marina and waterfront park. Looking for several people, and one person to become the lead attendant.

Pay:  Negotiable, based on experience and job performance

Duties:  Will prepare rental boats and jet skis, teach renters how to drive them and assist in docking, boat fueling, towable tube attachment, and basic boat maintenance. Will learn to be responsible while driving, docking, and towing different types of boats, jet skis, and golf carts. Will assist with set up and clean up of special events such as concerts, fund raisers, weddings, and private parties. May be expected to collect entrance fees and direct parking. At least half of this job includes mowing, weed eating, beach maintenance, and landscaping activities. Some light construction, dock repair, and maintenance. Power washing, detailing boats, and light cleaning tasks. If you like to work outside and like to work with people this could be the job for you. Your “office” is set in one of the most breathtaking views in Central Virginia.

Requirements:

  • Prior to start date attendants must acquire Virginia Boaters Safety Certificate through a free online course with Boat US Foundation, that takes a few hours to complete. Other boater’s certificates may be accepted if they are state approved.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays in the summer season. Prefer someone who can be flexible depending on weather and scheduled events.
  • Must be a person who takes pride in their work and likes to stay busy focusing on doing the best job possible. This job requires responsibility for expensive boats and equipment so great care and attention to detail and safety is essential.

Experience in landscaping and “tinkering” on cars, boats, or equipment is a plus. Boating and Jet Ski experience is desirable.

Marina Store and Office Assistant

Seasonal Full and Part-Time Positions

Job Description:  Full Time Summer Employment consisting of assisting in the operations of a full service marina and waterfront park convenience store and rental boat office.

Pay:  Negotiable, based on experience and job performance

Duties:  Will work in Marina store and assist with checking customers out, record keeping, rental boat reservations and check out.  Will learn how to teach customers about rental boat operation and safety and ensure all paperwork is in order, to meet industry regulations.  Will check in and organize supplies and store inventory.  Must be willing to clean all park and store areas, and help with a variety of tasks as needed. Will need to answer phones, take messages, and provide information to customers.  Will be needed both inside and outside.

Requirements:

Experience in store, office, or deli is a plus. Boating and Jet Ski experience is desirable. Experience with Microsoft Office and or cash register systems will be helpful.
